i recently came accross http://www.carsponsorships.com/ . It looked kinda cool, untill I got to the end of the application and they asked for a credit card number. They say that if you are accepted that you get anywhere from $500 to $25,000, but they also say if your accepted you need to pay $89 for proccessing and shipping of your sponsor package. Whats the deal with that? Has anyone heard about this?... is it just a big scam?

i dont like it, seems too easy. what they are saying is basically how sponsorships work, you have to display advertisement and use the products. problem that i can see right away with it is what happens if you get a sponsorship from a company that deals with products youre not interested in. they dont give you a grand and tell you to go buck wild with it. what they do is send a thousand dollars worth of merchandise that they sell. you should see if there is some form of agreement or guarantee that you can read from top to bottom to try and find the catches...

yea i dont like it either... seems like if you dont represent them or change your mind they will charge you for all the stuff they sent you.. ask them if you can send a money order and if they refuse ask y

it seems legit to me except if you look at the sponsors it seems like its for imports then agian i only think its legit because i fall for things that look too good to be true and i always get fucked in the ass just look at my car nothing but problems a few weeks after i bought it

It sounds like a scam to me.... most sponorship comes to cars/people who have already proven themselves with their products even on lower amatuer levels but people's own money was invested first.
Companies only sponsor people which they know the money/products they are giving away are going to people who are out in the scene and will promote their products. Not just say the will and never do so if your already out racing showing etc.., you have accomplishmenst trophies awards to prove it. this is where contigency money and other such programs come into play.

i really dont like to shoot things down just cause they seem too good to be true, but unfortunately thats how the world works. besides the shadiness, do you really want to have to put decals all over your ride just so you can put in equipment that is more than likely not what you want to put in? i say just keep saving your money...

i would be willing to put any decales on my car if they gave me money... they probably will just send me some crappy cold air intake or something.
Anywho, this has been brought up before... Gtstang, what the fuck is with your sig, it makes no sence
