need help

every time I start my engine on cold I get two warning lights ABS INOP and ASR OFF (no way I can turn it on). I haven't got the least clue about what might be causing this, could someone tell what could be causing this?

do they turn not turn on in any other circumstance? what year and model do you have? also, have you run the car for codes yet?

it's a 96 and it only happens on cold starts and no I haven't run the car for codes, I'm almost 100% new to these cars so u could say I know crap about them.

Those lights go off after a second though right?

they go off when I turn the engine off 'n back on
