jumped timing belt 1 more question!!!!!

i have a 1997 gst and i jumped my timing belt and i want to know if i need a new enigne or if i can just replace the timing belt and re time the everything and alos replace the head since i probily bent a valve should i be all set by doing this? thanks guys so replace the head and belt?

your best bet is rebuilt your head, replace head gasket (since the head is getting taken of its a wise idea), and replace bent valves, if u jumped one tooth you probably damaged 4 valves. Just make sure you take it to a experienced mechanic. The 4g63 engine have a quite complicated timing system and is very easy to screw up. I had to happen to me, did all work myself cost $800parts

Woah woah. First things first. Do a compression test and see what kind of compression you have. I believe 142 is the serviceable limit for 4g63 compression (Kevin, Joe, Jake, Lando, etc. please correct me if I'm wrong). If your compression is good, you may have gotten lucky and saved yourself a lot of wasted money.
