2004 Grand Prix Major Engine Problems!?

Hey, anyone had problems with thier '04 Grand Prix GT. Mine is 4 months, 8000 miles and at the dealership with the engine pulled. It was making a 3-5 second rattle/vibrating noise in the engine during cold starts only. Dealership thinks it was a broken piston ring. Anyone know anything about this? HELP!!!

Things like this can happen during the break in period of any new car. You bought a very dependable car that should give you years of relatively troublefree service. you just happened to get one with a bad part in it, which happens from time to time.
