Hello everyone, this is one of my dreams. I am willing to do whatever it takes to do. I want to own a shop, mainly dealing with increasing performance. First though, I am doing my research and I need to know what all is required to start one. I would like to sell parts, mainly focusing on the sport compact market. Also, possibly in the truck/suv market. What is all required? What licenses would I need to get to own a shop. What all would I need, who would I need to talk to about selling parts. Also, what all is required when it comes to hiring, what are all the responsibilites of a shop owner. Any advice or info will be very appreciated.

Thank you,
Anthony

First off have A LOT of Savings to handle your personal bills for at least a year. Incorp so the liablilty doesn't fall on your personally, get a business licence for your area, a good accountant to file all your paper work. Employees?!?! :banghead: Check ALL references and watch them like a hawk. I wouldn't limit myself to just imports.....open yourself to all markets. LOTS of advertising! Take money up front and make sure customers know what are special orders and what that means! Spell it out for them. Just be prepared to be without a paycheck for some months, after all it will take you a while to get up fit and your doors open. Good Luck! It is worth it in the end...just stick with it!

if I may say so...its not always the best thing to Incorporate if I were u I would open up a Limited Liability Corparation so u will have control over all ur creativity for your shop and wont have someone telling u wat u can do and wat u cant do
