Hey,
I've been having touble with the engine losing power a little bit recently, just on occasion, during a sharp turn, or after a quick stop start at a stop sign or something. Usually the car sputters for a sec then is fine. I thought it to be a lazy fuel pump, but I haven't tested it yet. I was driving today and the car did it's sputter, but instead of being alright after a second, the car backfired and died. Now it won't start. I thought it might have been a low oil cutoff because despite having no warning light, the oil was dry, so I topped it up, but the car will wind and backfire, but not start. It just shakes and sputters, struggles, and then eventually just winds the starter and doesn't fire anymore.
How can I find out what happened and how do I fix it?
91 Civic CX, Throttle body fuel injection, 260 000kms. 3/4 of a tank of gas....so no, it's not empty...
Thanks

hmm sounds like you need a tune up? Try chang'n the plugs and wires first.

Hey...thanks for the advice...It turned out to be the set screw that holds the rotor in place on the dizzy...it came out so the rotor wouldn't spin with the engine. I put the screw back in place and it fired right up, no problem. For future reference, it's a tiny screw that uses a 3mm hex key to tighten, and I needed the long one. So if you have a similar problem, consider carrying a spare screw and hex key, it could save your life.
Cheers
