Going rate for used / rebuilt 3.1 engine

I'm going to be calling around some auto-wreckers in search of a 3.1L for my 94 GP. Can anyone tell me, in Canadian $$$, what an average price I might pay for an engine. I haven't had to buy one before, so I don't know where the "ripped-off" threshold is!

in the US, going rate for a low mileage (less than 75,000)used is around $500, higher mileage (over 100,000) is around $300. Rebuilt, you're looking at around $1500 to $1700 for a reputable rebuilt from Jasper. Whatever you do, don't buy a Recon, they are JUNK!!!!!!
