More info please...i assume you have an AT but define "hard", does it happen all the time, some of the time...i ask this because there is a lock out that won't let the car out of park unless the brake is pressed if you have this problem sometimes then that solenoid could be going bad or have a bad wire...or is it that it is physically hard to move the lever out of park, this can be asjusted also... :eek7:

trying pushing the brake in more when you move out of park. But some accords to have weak transmissions. You got a buddy mech? If you do have him check it out.

Also - common problem - the shifter cable freezes up. Since you say it's "hard" not "impossible" to get out of park, that's likely it.
No fix for the cable - have to install a new one.

OK, IT IS AN AUTOMATIC, IT DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME AND IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF PARK. iT'S MORE LIKE IT CATCHES BETWEEN PARK AND REVERSE. I HOPE THAT'S DESCRIBING MY PROBLEM A LIL BETTER.

I don't think it the tranny. It's either the cable or the shift mechanism. I had the same problem on my 92 Accord. It's very hard every morning. Later I found it's the sugar left on the shaft at the bottom of the mechanism bond together over the night (spilled coke on the shift stick area). I cleaned it up and that's it.

use your parking brake to stop the car before you put it in park.

i'd go with "proman", my friend had the same prob with his 91 accord, spray some wd40 on the mechanism bond, should work like a charm, and keep it clean from oil and especially drinks!

I still think it's probably the cable!
