i was wondering is it possibleto drift with a suby has any one here done it thats all i want to ask because i've read in a magazine about some people modifying a subaru for wrx owners. they wanted to get rid of the understering so they fitted a new LSD to the front and rear of the car but left the middle stock, then they said they took it to the track and the car was oversteering!! has any one done this in AF?

They would have to be some pretty trick diffs to get it to oversteer. The easiest way to get the WRX (or any AWD car for that matter) to oversteer is to take out the front halfshafts.
In all the experience I have, the WRX, STi, and 2.5RS are all faster when they understeer.

Forgive my negative post, but setting up an impreza AWD for drifting seems counter to everything about the car. If you must, convert it to a RWD car first.
Oversteer and Understeer are best tuned with anti-sway bars.
My thoughts on drifting would be to set up a neutral handling
car that oversteers with power, not one that is loose to start with.

I drift my Sube and its a MY01 MBP All I did was upgrade my rear antisway and control arms and Im all set... My front and rear sway bars are adjustable by the way so I set my rears stiff and my fronts soft... All this in a non turbo so it is possible...

THEY DIDNT SET THE CAR UP FOR DRIFTING. THEY JUST WANTED TO STOP THE UNDER STEERING SO THEY GOT NEW LSD'S AND THE CAR STARTED TO OVERSTEER

hi.....i have a 04 wrx, and i find it understeering at its limits.....but i have found a trick so that it would not do that....that is to brake really hard before a corner but not so hard that the abs comes on, and you will have to turn in before the turn very very quickly while flooring it in 2nd.....if you dont brake hard you will end up understeering...!!..now i found out that there are kits by Cusco that changes the center diff to make the power 35F:65R...it will make drift fans much happier^...but it is $2000 canadian with the rear diff, so it is quite expensive.....i suggest flooring it in a dead stop from 1st gear when its raining, so you'll have a feel of what the 4wd behaves like...

An RX7 S5 huh??? Well I have a 90 RX7 Turbo II in the process of getting completed as we speak... Paint and body has been done... Rebuilt the engine and upgraded the turbo... all I need to do is put the interior back together, and finish up some wiring. Well hope you get your RX... its fun...
