Hello everyone. i just bought a new wrangler sport and i need some advice. i dont know wether i should put 15x10 or 15x8 wheels (i'm putting on 33x12.5 tires on them).
i guess my question is, what difference does it make? does it affect gas mileage? does 15x10 look better then the 15x8? is one safer then the other?
thanks.

the recommended rim width for a 33X12.5 is 8.5 to 11 inches so the 15 X 8 rim would be a little narrow and probably would give you a little extra mid tread wear at the recommended tire pressures.

15x8 is what is recommended for that size tire. You can get away with 10" wide wheels, but I would not roccomend it. You will also get slightly better gas mileage with the 15x8's, due to less rolling resistance.

Recommended tire pressures?? Use a pessure that feels the best to you. Probably around 29 to 32 psi. People always say to always go with the reccomended tire pressure with ANY tires, but that is not always possible.

looking at the specs for the gdyr wrangler mtr that size calls for a minimum rim of 8.5in and the hankook mt-rto1 calls for a 10 in rim

Look at the web site for your tires

the only reason you would get less rollin resistance is a smaller contact patch and that = more tire wear in the cinter of the tread like jd said.

Try www.tires.com for a base line.
Keep in mind that that the 33" x 12.5" has a 12.5" sidewall width at the widest point, best way is always look at the tire off the rim and measure the relaxed bead width. I would not go any less than what it measures on an average. Would you wear tite pants????????
