94' 3.0 Still shutting down!

Hello,

Sorry for posting this highly repeated question.

I have a 94' 3.0 with about 140k miles. Engine completely shuts down when in very slow traffic. Seems that heat is the main cause. Will start afetr a few minutes of cooling down, only to repeat it self a few minutes later.

I have changed Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, Catalytic Converter, Radiator Fan Switch, Distributor Module, Coil, Spark Plug Wires, Cap and Rotor and finally Thermostat. There are no trouble codes. Engine turns on and idles perfect. Everything seems fine when cold or car is moving.

Please advice. Thanks.

This sounds like an earlier post...I've had this problem and the MAP sensor was the culprit.

Been a while but I had what might be a similar issue with my '94 3.0L In summer heat, with A/C on, slowing rapidly from freeway speed the engine would stall. It would restart right away but needed to shift into N to keep it running, then it would be OK. No codes. A suggested trick from my buddy the Mopar van mechanic was to remove the large air intake hose from the plenum and squirt a bit of carb cleaner into the sensor pickup area. Look inside the plenum opening and just before the throttle plate you should see a hole at the bottom heading off to the side. Squirt A BIT (i.e. one quick shot) of regular carb cleaner in there while the engine is running. If the squirt works, ultimately the sensor still needs replacing but you've confirmed it.
