Can someone please give me a breif rundown of how I would do this?

Drive up on ramps or place on Jack Stands.
Disconnect battery.

Disconnect the heavy cable and solenoid wire.
[13mm & 8mm wrenches]

Remove the two bolts, one long and one short.
[15mm socket and extensions]

Remember which goes where but that should be obvious.

Remove the starter.
It will drop some when the bolts are removed but you will have to wiggle it out through the frame.

AutoZone gives a Lifetime – no questions asked replacement – guarantee.

Note any shims and place the shims back - as they were on the old starter.

Snake the new one into position.
[Don’t forget any shims only if they were there to begin with].

Hold the heavy starter in position and start the short bolt or the other one if you can.
Start the other bolt.

Trick – Start both bolts before tightening either one down to the final torque value.
This assures bolt and starter alignment.

Hook up cables.
Hook up battery.
Start the car.

The worst part is holding the starter up to the engine and starting the first bolt.
A helper would be good at that point.
