I was just wondering what you guys were talkin bout, about the misfiring system? What is that and what does it do? And i was just wondering what kinda car is a pretty decent car to start playin with, I just started playing ID.

anti-lag system or misfiring system elimnates turbo lag. in the game it gives you a faster start-up plus it looks cool 'cause the evoIII is the only car that has it. decent car to start out with? i'd go with an evo.

I already talked to him on AIM. He's getting a GC8V, since it doesn't get its ass handed to it on Akina as easily, and that's a pretty common course.

duluth2006
09-15-2004, 10:01 AM
its not anymore common than any of the other stages. truly more people in version 3 play the new stages compared to anything.

kman10587
09-15-2004, 06:59 PM
Not in his area they don't. Besides, the GC8V will keep up with any car just fine on Shomaru or Tsuchizaka.

duluth2006

ok... so if he is versed on akina a lot why does it matter about shomaru and tsuchi? not to mention like i've stated before gc8v start-up sucks, it'll get owned on shomaru. if he's playing shomaru he should definitely go for a gdb or rx-8, but if he's getting versed on the older stages gc8v is just as good as the evo (meaning its a good choice). but if its just to get better and not actually battle he might wanna try a(n) underpowered car.

Whatever, it seems that your view of "start-up = everything" isn't very popular around here. :)

wow you two are at it again? Id say the GC8V is a better nooby car than the RX-8. I thought the 86 was a nooby car but later on realized how badly its penalized by wall tapping.

No, we're not. I'm leavin' this thread right now. :P

it is the most important factor in a battle. i don't want to explain it again but unless boost is on the person in back is at a huge disadvantage, more-so than version 2. no glitching + different block system, even you noticed it akinaspecialist.

kman, you never answered my question either... how do you pass if the person in front hits the apex on everyturn so you cannot pass through the inside?

yet another reason why a slow start-up sucks in battle.

Ok, Dilip discovered the reason why it is easier to block now, and why it is harder to pass someone. It's not because of the slower speeds, nor is it because there is no presence of a god car now. The reason is pretty simple...

When watching vids of some version 2 battles, i notice something....somehow the car behind will never get VERY close to the car in front (bumper to ass)..there is a force (a bouncing effect) pushing it away from the car in front....now, because of this, the car behind will always have full vision of the road, with no big ass to block him (or less frequently) because of this invisible 'force'..

In version 3, that bouncing effect is gone...if you are right behind him and can smell his ass, there is no force to push you slightly away from him...because of that, you are more often into situations where you'll be right on the opponent's butt...AND because of this, behold, your view of the road is often not the best...

So that is why it is harder for an opponent to pass now, the chaser will often be in situations where he can't see the road well. Thus, more mistakes are made, the chaser is more likely to be smashed into walls by the blocker, and therefore the blocker is the one that calls the shots.

If anyone has doubts about this, go back and watch version 2 battle vids again. That bouncing effect when the car behind gets close to the front car on straights, is unmistakable if you observe. I think no one really noticed it..

Re-read the other thread carefully; the answer is in there. If you still aren't seeing it, then you are missing my entire point. There is no need to do this all over again. Bye.

duluth2006

i guess i am missing your point because i don't see it. start-up is important and if your gonna say it isn't, that's fine. i can prove more-so why its important but you just tell me skill will win, but that obviously isn't true. hitting an apex is a very basic technique, blocking is also a basic technique... the other person could be doing 5-4 and still lose skill - 0, basic - 1.

i wanted to know more info about ly's location. look in the Initial-D Ver3: Newbie thread, the other omega never fully answered my questions.

how about u answer the thread above ur previous thread....looks like u never answer all my questions....ok here a question for u to answer and lets see if u answer it...what's ur time on T/A....

duluth2006

screw team omega, they are cocky assholes. what does my time have to do with going to meet up for a friendly get together of initial-d? i'm not showing you anything but the few people i know who do play initial-d would back me up on this, that i'm good for the amount that i play. now i know why everyone talks so badly about you guys. not to mention you'd SEE my times if i went there right? but i guess you can't put 2 and 2 together. i guess i'll stick to going to mall of america. some people take a frigging video game a little bit too seriously, now don't we?

kman10587

duluth: You're one to talk. You talk like you know all this shit about Initial D but you won't even post your times to show that you have a working knowledge of the game.

duluth2006

kman, really, you need to learn more about the game... you still haven't posted anything liable in the other thread that even proves to me or anyone for that matter that your theory works. i've showed how easy mine stays true. about my times, i don't need to post them to prove to you that i'm good. i know what i'm talking about. a lot of what you are saying to others isn't really true, and doesn't hold true unless your facing a noob. last time i was down at the mall, there was this guy in an gdb and i was racing an rx8. of course he got me off the line, boost WAS ON, i trailed the entire race even though i was going 12km/h faster most of the time despite i was going faster i couldn't pass. he blocked me on the straights, very easily i might add, and took the inside on all of the turns so i had no place to overtake. in the sega final/prelim videos they always ram on the inside of the turn so they over take and eat the outside wall and block, that's how important being in the lead is... and don't say experts do it only... basic players know that on stages like irohazaka if you take the inside you can reverse another player.

not to mention, don't you think team_omega would see my times if i met them for a get together? i was gonna go down and meet them for a get together but they can't even tell me info about a location, so i know whats up when i go down... but like i said everyone i've met who plays initial-d they think omega is a little to concieted and overrated by many. i thought it was just 'cause they like to battle others, but now i know its their attitude... they act like kids.

u know what when we go to MOA we don't even talk to other people....so how could it be our attitudes when we dont even talk to them....we go there and play and when the money is gone we leave....and u think that we go there and talk to others think again...if you want prove...next time ask the people at MOA if the our team ever talks to them....

hey when did i say your a chatter box? shit i don't even know you i'm just telling you what i've heard from others who play and its not like its just from ONE group of people, its from many.

someone told us how pissed you were about losing some tournament and how you always bugged them over and over and over to race them again just to prove you can beat them. sounds pretty pathetic to me.

hey u can't win all the time...plus it was boost on, any one can win with boost on in ver.2 and u know that too....i dont really care about that....he was the one who learned from us....after the tournament he said no matter what he still looks up to us....

whatever gets you through the night. you had that same attitude when that dude was beating your times. that's probably why people look down on you guys. personally, if you didn't act like this i wouldn't mind meeting up with you guys but i like to hang out with people who act their age and not like little boys. so if you wanna answer the info about ly's, i'll go. i'm not gonna wander around looking for something when i know where the mall of america is.
