you mean the 1LE package if you can get the entire car, do an engine swap transfer all the wiring, dash, everthing over to your car. then you will get what your after.

I am feeling like a prick today, dont take offence to this buddy, im just an honest man.
First of all, every camaro with a v6 needs a V8, i dont understand why you feel the need to state something everyone else already has. If you want a V8 camaro, easiest way is to buy one. You Probabley AREN'T going to be able to fabricate mounts and do all that stuff to put a v8 in there.
SEcond of all, do you really need the power? with this amazing power you plan to make, is it going to help you get to school and back easier than a v6, that gets 15 more mpg?
a 327, 454 or 427 swap is going to cost you alot of money, you have to get a new tranny, then probabely a new rear end, new suspension to handle the weight and power. and you are without a car for a year, and it has drained that $10,000 that you dont have.
And finally, why the hell would you put some "Hop ups" on the V6, i mean look at it like this, You plan to save for the V8, so obviously you want the V6 to last for the time being no? Mods are just going to shorten that reliability, and take away from the money you were saving for the V8.

funny you say that...
I was selling one of my other Camaros at one point in time... 95 Z28 with lots of mods... This 16 year old kid and his mom came to look at it... Well I went for a drive with the kid... When I came back the kid told his Mom he wanted the car... The Mom asked how much and I told her... She said she would have to go home and talk to the Man of the house first... Later that night she called asking a few other questions about the car and on of them was, if I was a father would I buy this car for my 16 year old kid... I told her that I would not as a first car and would make him or her prove they could handle something like it first... I told her the car can do over 150mph and he will try it at that age... I bet he was pissed at me because he did not get a fast car but in the long run I may have saved his life... I think...

how does your six run??? if it still runs good and will be able to last you a while, just get you a good used v8 (350) and build it up, you can get a set of v8 motor mounts and put in this car. anyway you could be building on your v8 and still be able to use the car until you are ready to make the swap. also be sure to get a transmission for a v8 as well cause the v6 one wont hold up to the power of the v8.

Your best bet is really just to save up and buy a car with a V8. Atleast you didnt get a 4 banger and you have a six though :D
Upgrading from a V6 to a V8 is a fairly straight forward process as long as you have all the parts. The easiest way to do it is to buy a whole V8 car for parts so that you can take all you need. You'll need the tranny, the cooling system, as well as the suspension.
You dont have to custom fab mounts to put a V8 into your car.
I would tell you to save your money and dont waste any on the V6. The 2.8 isnt a powerful motor but they are tough as hell and shouldnt give you much trouble. Save some cash and figure out exactly what you want.

Beings the frame of the 2.5L, 2.8L, 3.1L, 5.0L and 5.7L that came in the 3rd gen F-body is the same, I don't see engine mounts being a problem. I wouldn't worry about a crate motor, get a used 350 spend the money to have it rebuilt... or do it yourself. Beef up the rear end and don't kill yourself. Oh, and out of respect for yourself and other F-body owners ditch the neons.

when i was little (back in the late 80's) i saw a beutiful 89 iroc, yellow, had a daytona iroc hood on it, and had chrome wheels, and had yellow neons under it, the REAL sports cars had all of that including gfx. neons kick ass, unless a ricer has them

the engine mounts are different for each engine. as in the mounts for the 3.4L are pretty much in the center of the block (longitudinally) and i believe that the LT1 mounts are on the front portion of the block. i dont know exactly about the third gens, but generally you have to get the front support member for the correct engine application...

When i see an F-Body with neon's, i must say i usually have a good laugh.
Real sports cars have Gfx and neon's? lol, guess an enzo is not a sports car, but that god damn aveo with dealer installed neons, look out for him!

godammit!! get rid of the neon bullshit! it is an embarrasment to all camaro owners nation wide. it's like you want to be accepted by the ricers and the american muscle crowd, but not accepted by either because you put trendy, rice crap on a car that otherwise speaks for itself.
Anyway, the V6 to V8 swap is a very costly one, I'm in the process of doing it myself. $400 for complete junkyard 350 engine, $350 to have bottom end redone (I got a deal, expect to pay 200 more), $500 heads, $800 performance cam/intake/carb (you can stick with factory parts here), $300 misc parts/tools. This does not include new tranny and/or rearend. Lots of work and it will cost significantly more than you think. I'm doing it for the end-result (of course), and for the learning experience.
