A year from now, i will have a DSM. Only problem is, wich year? 90-92 is nice, performs better than 2g, but no looks...2g looks nice as hell, but the engine isnt as good as 1g..!! How much is insurance for 90-92 and 97-99 Eclipse GSX? thanks...

You say the 1g's have no looks, but I've seen lots of them that looks REALLY good. It depends on your goals for the car, really. If you want a nice, hot-looking little street machine, then I'd go with a 2g. However, if you want a mostly street/strip go-fast with less $$ car while paying a little bit less on insurance, then I'd go with a 1g. Either way, you're getting a DSM, and that's ALL that matters! ;)

1g is a bit more boxy but it has a style that makes people look just as much as the 2g does. more people (around here) think just because its a clean 1g turbo, they figure its been modded to hell

There isn't a production car that looks as good as the 2g eclipse for less than $30k IMO.
I completely agree. My neighbor has a brand new corvette Z06 (YUMMY), and he won't shut up about how good my car looks (strange eh). Also, he honestly did NOT believe me when I told him I bought it for $5500  . I told him I'd be faster than his Z06 in about a year from now. Of course, he doesn't believe me, but then again he doesn't know the potential of these cars :evillol: .

If fast on a budget is your goal the I'd get a mid 1992-1994 1G. I'd stay awayf from the 90-91 as they have weaker axles, and a few compatibility problems. 2G's are going to take more money to run fast if that is your thing, & I think a 1g can look just as tough if setup right.

I love the look of a clean 1g. Mike rizzotti's car comes to mind, as well as sheps. If I could do it all over again, I'd have a 1g. To hell with looks anyway, the money you save on the 1g could be put into mods, but thats just me :D
