launching and best shiftpoints

my buddy has an 02 rs... he plans on running it this fri at mir and was wondering what the best launch for the car would be and the best shiftpoint and what do these cars normally run stock? thanks

is the car turbo? My mate has a 98 model wrx he revs it to 5000rpms then dumps the clutch. he doesnt lightly press on the gas pedal so it idles a 5000 he keeps pressing it.

im not too sure on the shift points, justtill him to practice launching and shifting pionts somewhere. tell him to find the piont where he loses power at a certain rpm's and shift before the power loss rpm......thats if there is a power loss area

oh and if dumping the clutch is bad just ride it alittle k

stock 0-60 is around 7.5
stock 1/4 I think is around 15.7

and as far as the launch and shift goes he just has to learn I know my WRX but that is a completely different beast
