Hey all,
My bro wants me to change his shocks and struts in his car (specifically a 1995 Buick Century). I know the car has struts on back, and shock on front. I've never changed any of these, so I was wondering: Is it hard to do? Is it something that can be done at home? Is there a link or website (can't find one) that shows a step-by-step on how to do this? I'm sure one of those "Haynes" books shows you how, but Im not buying it for 1 little servicing. Thanks a mil!

Stop by your local library and check out a copy of the Haynes or Chilton's manual.

Are you sure the car has struts on the back and shocks on the front? Usually its the other way around (at least on the cars i've worked on). Changing shocks are fairly simple, struts take a little longer. If the spring is pressed in around the strut you will need a spring compressor to get the strut removed. Make sure you have your basic hand tools and a torque wrench to re torque the bolts back to spec. As the others said, a Haynes manual or some type of vehicle maintence manual of the car will greatly help.
