So i have a 93 base auto...Not the fastest but shit its a GT. Anyway all my friends have you know the usual a WRX an EVO all that good stuff. And i love the feeling of being in those cars in a race and how fast they are. So what i wanna know is has anyone had a base and upgraded to a VR4? Will i notice a hell of a lot of difference from a base to a VR4? Cuz at the track a vr4 beat a wrx and that tells me enough right there. But in a year or so when i get that new turbo car im wonderin should i look into an evo or stay with the gt which i love? Im just tired of ppl puttin our cars down saying its to heavy and all that and i just wanna be sure if i get me a vr4 with mods i wanna be at the same level as those guys? Dont get me wrong i love my car im just ready for some more speed. Thx guys peace.

I've driven plenty of SLs and bases at work, and I own a vr4...trust me you will notice quite a difference. I've taken down sti's in my vr4, so you wont have problems beating a regular wrx.

Out of the box, the VR4 and those cars are going to have races determined by the driver. The VR4 has ample power to get the job done. Going BPU will get it running with the STIs as well.

at the dragstrip, friend's stage 3 WRX (cold air intake, exhaust, downpipe, high-flow cat, boost controller @ 18 psi, ECU upgrade, and intercooler upgrade) with those short ass gears ran an 8.4

my buddy with a VR-4 with just intake an a home made boost controller set at 13.5 psi ran an 8.3

WRX's get walked on highways cause of the gearing, but they are tough little boogers to beat down low

Hotshot, i'm assuming you're talking about an 1/8th mile track.

Haha, it would be funny if he was talking ¼ track.
