98 Clutch

The clutch on my 98 4Runner is squeaking when pressing and releasing and also does not return to the starting position. From what I read on other forums it sounds like it is caused from the spring. 2 questions:
1) Do I need to buy a new spring and is that the only part I need to replace?
2) Is this easy to do?
