Need Parts

A guy I work with needs a automatic transmission for a 64 Mustang w/ a 289, he says the rearend is stock but does not know what gear it has. The car came factory with a manual transmission and he wants to convert. Does anyone know the best place to find one, new or used, does not matter. Also, if any of you guys have one you want to get rid of let me know. Thanks in advance.

It will physically fit but the balance weight is different from early style to late model he will have to get a conversion flyweel from a specialty trans shop and the linkages to hook up the t.v. cable or the tranny will blow up , between $250 and $300 for the flyweel, that is kinda pricey I was trying to go a cheaper route. Thank you though.
