Hey, I have 92 325i with an automatic tranny. The car has 72K original miles. The tranyb started slipping the other day and now it wont move. It sound like a turbine under the car,"the trans". Is this something thats fixable or should I start looking for a new tranny. And by the way, Will an M3 tranny work? Thanks

that you use only a ZF authorized transmission shop. If you cannot find one, do not let anyone talk you inti rebuilding it. Buy a rebuild from ZF themselves!!!! Check the ZF website.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Please note thay your 325 doesn't have a ZF unit but a GM trans built in France and the most common failure is the o-rings sealing the front adapter case to the main case. As long as the clutches aren't gone and the lack of 'drive' is caused by very low fluid, any experienced 'Independent BMW' shop should be able to repair it, it's such a common item.
