well I finally got my Moser rear axle assembly on... it feels a hell of a lot faster with the posi, 3.73's, and I got the power programmer...
anyway, now I am looking for some new struts and 2'' lowering springs... does anyone have any good recomendations... or does anyone know of any package deals out there? I saw the TVS package from Hochkis but it only comes with 1'' lowering.
-Thanks

what the hell is posi? where can you get it? also how much of a gain did you feel you got from the programmer?

late model z28's have a limited slip rear end... this is a posi traction rear end (both rear wheels always turn). the car feels a lot faster, but most of that comes from the lower gears, so I can't say how much power the programmer gave it. but it did allows me to set the shifting a lot firmer (3), adjust for my bigger wheels, adjust for the different gears, and i increased the shift points 500 rpms. go to www.moserengineering.com to read all about the different rear axle assembley

It all depends on what you are looking for. Obviously since you are looking for 2" springs, you are not planning on Drag racing at the track, so here is my opinions.
Springs
For a 2" Drop, the Eibachs {Sportline Kit} will get you there! It is a pretty big drop! 2" is a bit much for me, though.
Shocks
The KYB are not really worth the $$. There are much better shocks out there. The Bilstiens are the way to go for 'Stock Replacement', but if you have the money, go with the QAI Coil over kit!
other parts
BMR and Spohn both make Quality suspension parts for 4th gens. Get some QUALITY lower control arms (and Lower Control Arm Relocation Brackets) and a Quality Panhard bar for a huge handling difference over stock. If you do not have SFC's, better get them ASAP.
What Moser did you get? I have mine sitting in the garage waiting for the next car. Mine is a 9" with Aluminum Center, 1350 yoke, Detroit locker, and Richmond 4.33's. The thing is Indestructable!

are 2" springs a bad idea for racing at the track?

here is a link to the rear end I got (its at the bottom of the page): http://www.customracer.com/camaro_suspension_handling.html
my plan is to shorty headers on and then weld in some electric cut-outs so that I can keep the quiet of the stock exhaust but be able to open it up (when some punk rolls up next to me :) ). Do you think that I won't be able to fit those under there with the 2'' drop?

get yourself a set of eibach springs on the hal shocks coil over kit (QAI). its the best way to go for the money. to get the eibachs to work on the hals, you need to get adapter plates from bmr fabrication but thats the best system you can go with...

the HAL/QAI set up is also just above the rear end you linked to.
To answer Genosyde, Yes I was running them on the street. With over 411hp and 418t-lbs at the wheels and the 4.33's, 1st and 2nd gear was pretty useless unless you were at the track.

Just out of curiousity are you still planning on driving this car on the street? If so, you may not want to go with a 2" drop...that is pretty steep. twdz28 only has 1.25" drop and he cusses everytime he pulls in the driveway...lol. I wouldn't do it 2" man.

don't worry... I'll be fine. i drive my buddies 97 with a 2 inch drop (the one with the big cowl below) around all the time and it is just fine and my 94 (yellow one below) had the body kit that went just as low. i also have a friend who has a 2000 with a 2 1/4 drop.... thanks for the concern though :) ... actually i have decided not to bother with the suspension for now... i am saving for my LS6 conversion!!!

on the other hand... if I had some long tubes, cut-outs, or an aftermarket y pipe the drop would be a bad idea

We have some shitty roads were I live so that accounts for most of it. I've bottomed out several times in downtown at stock ride height

i've just gotten used to slowing down when I have to. the only thing that was ever a pain in the ass was when I put bigger wheels and tires on my '86 IROC... driving down the freeway when i would hit a bump the rear tires would scrape the fenders. i eventually put spacers in the rear springs. she would ride like a log waggon... but what camaro doesn't. anyway, blah blah blah

i have the same rear fender scrape problem, but that's cuz i put a 4th gen rear end on it and used the third gen wheels... (they have a bigger offset than 4th gen so they stick out) soon gonna get some 4th gen rims for the car and use spacers on the front
