coilpack ?

i have a buick century 87 2.8 engine and it runsvery bad it has no power at all and if i drive it a while every thing stars nocking and pinging a friend of mine said that it is probably my coilpack and it all so uses a lot of gas could this be what it is and how easy are they to change
