Where to buy Used Bikes

I am looking for a used bike and I have come across many sites which pretty much look unprofessional and I'm worried they might have potential scam ads. I also worry sometimes about ebay, having heard many bad things from different people about ads and sellers. If you could tell me some reliable websites or places where I could find some used bikes I would really appreciate it. Also if you have yourself bought or have a friend who has bought a used bike using the internet as a medium please share you experience. Thanks guys!

GREAT site, mostly honest sellers, and you can find local ads that you can personally visit and look the bike over. You can do the same thing on ebay, or on a motorcycle forum in their classifieds section. So long as you can see the bike in person, and get a feel for the seller, don't worry so much. :) I bought both my bikes by finding them on cycle trader online.

Yea, i wouldn't look on ebay..theres some scavengers on there and they will bull shit you in a heartbeat..i bought a intercooler off there, paid and didn't even get the thing..couldn't even get back in touch with him after that

Have you thought about looking through local newspapers and check out what locals are selling? Why do people make things so difficult?

Sorry to hear about that Lindsey! I keep hearing more and more bad stories about ebay, that sucks! Well of course I have searched through the newspaper but usually all the bikes being sold are Harleys or cruisers. I am looking for sport bikes mostly. Thanks for your input guys.
