Hey all, I have a b16a in a 90 DX hatch that won't start. I have checked and double checked everything, but it's just not happening. I have spark, I have compression, I have even used a NOID light to make sure that the injectors are getting pulses from the ecu. I have done the DX-MPFI swap lots of times, so I know that's all wired up right, the car's just not starting. Does anyone have any ideas?
The last thing I could think of was that the TDC sensor wires were crossed, since they are always so faded, so I tried switching those around, but with no success. I double checked the timing belt, so I know it's in timing. I checked all of my wiring connections, so I know that they're ok, and I double checked my distributor sequence, firing order, etc. I also checked my grounds. Is there some stupid thing that I'm missing? I am getting no codes off the ECU also. If anyone has any ideas, I could sure use 'em. :banghead: :banghead:
Thanks in advance!

are the injectors firing? I had my z6 all the injectors where clogged and it did the same thing you are talking about. One way to check this is kinda dangerous but I have done it lots of times . Take your intake tube pour about 1 oz of gas down it, from inside the car turn the ignition on and try to start the car if you get it to run or try to start then it dies you know you have a fuel delivery problem. Try that let us know.

You know, that's a great question. I don't have any idea, and I really hope that's it, cuz that'd be easy, but I'd feel like a :loser: !!

silentchamber, do you mean main relay? I'll check it, but I thought that you lost the starter switch if it went bad tho. ie, the car wouldnt turn over at all if it went out.
Wouldn't that just be fitting if I did all this technical crap and then forgot go put gas in the stinkin car? I'd love it!

i kind of had the same problem,we check everything about 2-3 times, turns out it acually was the distributor an the timing, i set to timing to 0 an took the distributor off an check it then put it back on it, and then had him turn key an try again - shot a little starting fluid in the intake an she fired right up... then test drove it an then advanced the timing 2 degrees..... but ya i would check the injectors as he said cause even if all arent bad one is all you need to cause problems an deprive you from power.....

Same type of thing happened to me once. Fuel rail was clogged.
