This is late but no one today has even bothered to remember on these forums about that day. This thread goes out to all those effected by 9/11 especially the families of the Victims and the brave men and women that lost their lives to protected and served us until the end, the fire fighters and police of NY, and the rest of the USA.

As tragic as it was, if we keep living in the past, we'll get nowhere, I think the Firefighters/Policemen already know we appreciate it, anyway.

I noticed that as well yesterday, but I was out all day here in NY and we were swamped with 911 events all over the city. Plus it fell on a weekend so maybe that made many more feel at ease.

I said that to my mom and she freaked on me. I totally agree Jim. We should remember it, but not dwell on it.

Exactly. At some point, people need to move on with their lives. Obviously this is very tough for those who lost loved ones, and i say let them take all the time they need. But to the rest, i say get on with your life. None of us will ever forget what happened, but we don't have to dwell on it and think about it every day.

This may sound strange, but ever since Sep 11th. Every time I notice the time to be 9:11 I pray. Usually for those that lost their lives and their families. It's sad that those misguided young men who hijacked those planes thought they were doing a holy act. Atleast terrorists like McVeigh knew the sins they were commiting. Holy wars have been going on for centuries. And it pains me to say that christians have killed more muslims than vice versa. I just don't understand the need people have to impose their religon on another. Radical muslims beleive the united States to be the land of devils, the root of all evil. :nono: Although American ideals are not perfect and even if muslim's were a purer religion, the koran very cleary states that the killing of any man is wrong, especially the innocent that lost their lives on 9/11. Party of me fills with rage when I hear radicals speaking of Jihad. I think to myself, "bring it on!" Then, reason takes over and I realize that is not what God would want. This is not about religion. It is about shame some muslim radicals feel when they acknowledge a U.S. military presence in the middle east. We have been targeted because their precious pride has been smeared. Imagine how you would feel if another nation kept military bases in our country. Should we keep ourselves in a perpetual war with middle eastern countries? Lybia has finally begun making peace with us and realizes that they need us as a economic partner. We should not have military bases in the volatile middle east. Possibly we should think of creating bases or expanding current ones in the mediteranian or eastern europe, but our forces should not be in the middle east except in the time of war. Al Queda would not have targeted us if we hadn't mantained a military presence in Saudi Arabia, especially after the first war in Iraq. The only presence we should have in the middle east is in Isreal. /rant off

hmmm, I'll probably get crap for this, but I believe the only presense we should have is to ourselves. Israel is a country that has and can take care of itself. Whether there approach is good or bad, its none of our business. Plus it would save us the billions of dollars every year we send them.

I agree with TS, they've been able to hold their own for centuries before America was even thought of. They dont need us.
