:-)

Ok.. as we all know, cars run much better in the colder temp's. How much of an increase would be made if you do this..?? Torque etc??

PS.. This thread is, well, a joke.. But i bet you'd have a better running engine..

Yes. In the "old" carburator days we used to use a "cool can" . It was a large coffee can with fuel line spiralled inside. Before the race you would fill it with ice and gain 1/2 second or so. NOS does not burn, it cools the fuel/air mix to allow a lot more into the chamber. One of the racing magazines even did an article on "How to gain a 1/2 sec. for $.69"

Next up is water injectors?????????????????

A 10 deg. F. drop in air inlet temperature gives you approx 1% more power.
Drag racers will place ice on the intake manifold, just before a run, though.

NOS is a brand name for a nitrous oxide injection system.
Nitrous oxide is primarily an oxidizing agent. It will only provide more power if additional fuel is introduced into the engine at the same time.
It does cool the intake charge, but this cooling only provides a very small portion of the total power increase from a nitrous system.

Water injection systems are principally used to reduce the incidence of detonation. They have been around for decades and even were installed by the factory in turbo Oldsmobiles (the Jetfire) sold in the eary 60's. The best stuff to use in a water injection system is actually windshield washer fluid.

Only because of the alcohol in the w/w fluid. All the other shit in there wouldn't be good for it...

I would use distilled water over any. Unless the temperatures that your in are low enough that would require the use of methanol to prevent freezing.

sorry to jack the thread and sound like a noob at the same time, but ive heard of alcohol injection systems. does this refer to the actual fuel itself being alcohol as in a drag car, or a system that injects alcohol into the engine?

I had an old hot rod mopar years ago that had "electronic water injection". It was great because it let me run pump gas without the detonation. I never new it came factory on any cars though.
