It depends on the goals you have for your car.
16g<big 16g<evoIII 16g
If you are looking for 400+ whp, you're going to need an evo III (and yes, I believe it was 430 hp they squeezed out of the evo III just a couple weeks ago!).

I cant possibly see a reason for NOT getting the EVO316g over the other 2, unless you get a deal on a used one. They are only ~550 new.

 Who made 430whp on the evo316g??? I know SBR just recently hit a little over 400whp, but that was on a highly built motor, race gas, and some REALLY good tuning, if I remember correctly.
It won't be very easy at all to pull 400whp+ out of the evo3b16g. It IS possible, but it would take someone like the people up at SBR to do it ;)
However, if your goals are only mid-high 12 second 1/4 mile, or 300-350whp, then the evo3b16g is the PERFECT turbo for you. I've read nothing but good reviews about this turbo, and everyone I know that has it is VERY happy with it. I'm going for a slightly bigger turbo, just because I know I'll want to go faster once I hit around 350whp :iceslolan. And to answer your question about spooling, I believe the evo3b16g gets full spool just a hair over 3k rpms.
Bottom line- Evo3 16g = great turbo.

Regardless, it's a wonderful turbo... just not a 430whp one ;)

Stroker doesn't count anyway. The EVO 16g is the biggest 16g and is cheap. It's the one to get. It's running 12's all over the place, and I believe has or is soon to run 11's. The difference in spool time is not an issue.

Indeed it has already run 11s, on more than one car. ;) Two local guys have done it, so I'm sure there are several others. All of the built motor stuff doesnt add power. Actually nothing on that list adds power on a 16g, aside from tuning (and that was on a stock ecu no less). It just lets you move that air at lower boost. I think they could squeeze a little more power out of it, but its pretty much maxed out at that point. I cant even remember what this thread was about, so I'll stop rambling now I guess...
