The Fit has been out since 2002 in Japan, the rest of the world got it last year (It's usually called the Jazz outside of Japan). There is a world outside of the US guys. It's proving a popular little car as well, I love 'em.

Yeah, I saw them in Singapore. As well as several other Japanese and Ford (?) models that I've never seen here in the states. They are nice and shiny. Mmm.

They might be the next best thing to pop out of Honda but It's gonna akward to see it here on American soil though. I'd pick it over the Xa and Xb over at Scion anyday. Cute things I guess.

Hi all,
I've visited this site several times. I think this is my very 1st post.

Just want to share a bit about Jazz. I live in Indonesia.

I just bought it several months ago. I think this is a lovely small car, yet looks very sporty. Put a new set of 16 - 17" rims and tires and ground effect around the car and it's a sweet sporty, economy car.

The interior is functional yet looks classy. Sporty instrument cluster, seats, parking brake and shift levers.

Smooth running engine with i-DSI (Insight ic engine if i'm not mistaken). I love the CVT very much. I barely feel the shifts.

Some things I don't like:
1. Torsion beam rear suspension (semi-independent, i guess)
2. Rear drum brakes
3. Transmission may sometimes be slipping - not sure
4. Ignition switch - When I slowly turn the key to crank, I can hear the noise of jumping current inside the switch. This may be causing a problem in near future
5. Need more power

I heard that they will manufacture Jazz with VTEC engine.
It's probably what you guys are gonna have. 2006 is still a long way to go. Well, let's see if it worth the wait.

That's all I want to share.

Obviously not for racing purpose.
It's an economical vehicle.

May be the VTEC version will have more out of it.

Mugen Fit/Jazz Dynamite is Integra Type-R powered
http://www.mugen-power.com/topics/dynamite0108/index.html

And Mugen already makes a mounting kit to swap a K20A into them.

I think they're beautiful, and I can't wait for them to come to the U.S.!

Very SLOW. Sounds like my CRX numers, with twice the wieght. Anyone see that car with the 3 front bucket seats? Weird. And when did a NSX become a super car?

that car is better looking than the current Si that is out, though no where near as nice as the Civic Si concept for the next generation, imo.

I don’t think you guys understand! That thing is suppose to be cheaper, smaller, & get better gas mileage then a civic! It’s a cheap dependable ride. You ain’t gonna be picking up chicks with that thing. Given the price of gas these days it just might be a hit. I just think it's a a neat little piece of shit, & hope it comes with the 1.4iDSI diesel engine.

The L15A ( i-VTEC engine) powered Fit " Sport" should be around 110 HP and operate similarly to the 3 stage D15B VTEC JDM engine. I've seen 50 plus MPG tests as well. Nice slectable 7 Speed mode button on the steering wheel that allows you to use paddle shifters that are mounted on the back of the steernig wheel!

Here's an article about the L15A (1.5L engine and a test drive in the Fit/Jazz/City.

Cool, thanks for the article! Is the city a sedan version of the Fit/Jazz? I have to say it again; it’s a neat little piece of shit! I’d buy one.

I'd like to see a jazz diesel! It would get about 50 mpg. Next time fuel shoots up, they will sell a ton of them. Are you listening Ford, GM, Chrysler?

ew looks like a new version of those 86 4-door civic hatches, almost like a 4d si hatch without the power or sleekness

Most seem to have missed the point of the Jazz. Find me another supermini that offers as much interior space. You won't, simple as that.

31city/38highway (http://www.cars.com/go/features/autoshows/vehicle.jsp?autoshow=&vehicletype=production&autoshowyear=2006&vehicle=production_honda_fit)? There are civics that make better gas mileage then that! I just changed my mind, Honda dropped the ball on this one. :disappoin

The only thing it’s got going for it is the $13,000 for the base model price as well as the “cute” factor. I’m really disappointed with Honda on this one. I was really looking for something that had an EPA in the 40’s!

I didnt really like the look of these from the pictures, but after seeing them in person and driving them, they are really growing on me. 109hp/106tq isnt bad for this car. I work as a tech for a Honda dealer, so when these first came in, they were an instant hit. 3 of the 5 we got were sold before they even got PDI'd. Of course they were the sport model.

Kinda cool all the seat configurations you can do with the Fit!

Saw one in person this weekend. The 'Sport' seats are pretty comfortable.
It's a tiny car but then again it's meant to be an econobox.
Although I'm sure some kiddies are going to 'rice' the heck out of them, for the rest of us these seem like a great little commute/ errand car.
The tall interior accomodated me just fine (6' XL). The trick rear seat is simple and useful. I expect to see that feature in future cars.
If you look at the engine....well, my first thought was "What lawnmower did that come out of?" It's hard to believe that such a small powerplant can deliver so well. The acceleration is good enough for about town driving, but you had better not mess with a real 'Sport' car out on the freeway.
My only beef is that it doesn't option a factory moonroof or panorama roof.
I can't wait to see the safety tests from IIHS.org or safercar.gov.
This little Honda may outdo the upcoming VW Golf which will be based on the A3 platform.......maybe.
