I just recently bought my 92 Prelude SI and a kid from my school wants to race me with his '00 hyundai Tiburon. I'm pretty sure that I can beat him because his is automatic while mine is stick and his horse power is rated at 140 vs mine at 160, Tiburon's also only have a torque rating of 133 lb-ft. The only problem is he is 200 pounds lighter. Can I beat him, and I need tips on dragging, when to let the clutch, and if I should shift at redline, those kinds of things, I'm new to this, I never raced my old suv, a '94 rodeo. Thanks

humph... there are alot of variables involved... the best way to figure it out is to do it... over and over... whatever feels best and gives you the best results - you do. it's different for everyone.

Um...

20hp difference. Auto vs. manual. 200 pounds isn't going to make a difference. If you just shift cleanly, you should have no problems at all.

yeah, I really need to practice shifting, in my old rodeo my shift was much further and so I mis-shift 3rd alot, or I completely and go to 5th which would be a pretty big problem if i were racing. Thanks for the answers.
