about 2 weeks ago I changed my brakes,
the passenger side went fine but the drivers side caliber bolt stripped,
it keeps turning & turning & the same with trying to take the bolt out too,
I cant get the bolt out!
I left the bolt in there, because it wanted to tighten just finger tight,
I havent had a problem with it eversince,I've been to the races, checking it before & after the races, ive so called "drifted" & drove around for the past 2 weeks & it hasn't came out,
I figure its going to be a problem when I have to change the brakes next time,
so if you guys know what i should do either asap,if i should wait,
when i go to take my caliber off or what?

you may have to drill it out and retap to a bigger size. If its staying in dont worry about it.

thats what I figured I would have to do,
or get a new caliber,
but I did like to hear "dont worry about it"
thx

is that 12mm? an is it completely rounded or is it just the point where its just slipping but the edge is kinda there?

its the 10 mm bolt, but my passenger side has a 12mm,so I think its been stripped before & somone fixed it & the bolt heads not stripped, its the screw part that goes into the caliber, the caliber's stripped?/

oh shit so the head is good but you think the bolt threads are stripped an won't allow it to come off?

just cut the head of the bolt off when time comes to change pads, then drill it and retap it, or buy a new caliper, thier like 30 bucks with the old core.

nah ya dont need to cut it - just buy some pb blaster - its a metal penatrating lubercant - the best i have ever seen - bout 7-9 green backs an spray it wait 10 mins then spray it again - put a box wrench on dont use a socket cause it will most likely slip off - have someone hold the wrench on if possibly an stand on it bounce up an down an you should be able to break the bolt loose - i had this happen on a my friends pick up - i did that same process an bingo - the bolt came out it was on there really tight though - Try that before you cut it - Good Luck .

eh how would that help... the bolt just spins now, it doesnt need lube.

Oh yeah, when you get ready to take it out, before cutting it try wedgeing a screw driver or small pry bar between the head of the bolt and the caliper bracket, keeping pressure on it might make it come out, it works sometimes, other times not.

that sounds more of what would work, because yes,it does just keep on turning & turning, either way,thx alot
