A few sprints while I was away...

I would have posted this earlier, but until recently, my computer was down, so...
1st encounter:
This was my first encounter with a Hemi Ram. It was a king-cab version, and the dude was just WAY too happy with his truck, taking-off quick from every light, and making sure he was ahead of everybody.
It was late at night, and I just drove out to put gas in my car for the next day, so when this run happened, I was almost on E.
Anyhow.
I managed to maneuver my way next to him, as he was moving briskly. He was maybe going 60 or so, when I started to pass him. I guess he didn't like that, as I hear his big-ass engine scream for air as I pass. My momentum put me about 4 cars ahead, which was as far as I got, as there was light ahead that was turning red.
It was on like Donkey-Kong, as I hear a slight rev at the light, and I see his truck twitch, as his auto tried to jump him forward. This is where I made sure, and checked-out the Hemi badge, just rear of his headlights.
I must say, I was expecting to be killed, especially from a stop, and that thought stayed for a moment, as he was ahead by a nose (and what a large nose it is) thru first. I evened it up by the end of second however, and after a speed-shift to third, I started to walk. By the end of third, at around 90 mph, I was about 3-4 cars ahead (estimate - it was at night, and all I can see is his headlights).
Funny thing is, he seemed to calm-down his driving after that...
2nd encounter:
This happened in the middle of the day. I saw two cars trying to battle it out. 1st car was a 99+ Mustang V6 with chrome "bling" 18-inch rims, that I'm sure added an easy 100-HP. :icon16: The second car was a pretty-much stock Galant V6, I checked it out, and it was a 2004 model.
All I can say is that the Mustang was schooled in every which way, as the Galant managed to constantly stay ahead of the Mustang.
I figured, "why not?", and when I saw a huge break in the three-lane road we were on, I started the chase. I eventually caught-up. The Galant had quit, and it seemed so did the Mustang, although he was still going at a brisk pace. Mustang saw that I was attempting to get to the only open spot at the three-lane light up ahead maybe an 8th of a mile, and stepped-on it, but alas for him, I easily got in front, and got into the open lane.
To add insult to injury, the Galant decided to get in on it, and stepped on it, and was behind me, and the Mustang had to play second-fiddle to the car to my left.
Light turned, and I hop on it without launching, letting the Galant get next to me first.
He had the momentum as he was passing me, but I stopped it easily, and by the top of third, I was ahead by maybe 2-3 cars.
He just gave up after that.
Anyhow, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :sunglasse

lol.
Of course. I don't think my Isuzu Rodeo would have done as well. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/icon16.gif
Dan, you never told me where it was going to be, and at what time.
If it's at AMP, then I am not too far from there, same with PIR. BUT, if it's at Firebird, then I won't be able to make it.
Lemme know. :)
lol.
