ive just had a service on my BMW 525 tdse. The oil after chaging is still black on the dipstick is this normal for diesel cars? Please advice

fairly normalespecially if the engine has a few miles on it.
diesels deposit soot in their oil, do check that you have a new oil filter this would be a fair indication that the oil was changed.
