89 r700 shifting

I have an 89 with 4.3 auto it shifts great from 1-2 but sluggish 2-3. it also shifts great into overdrive. is this common or do I have a problem? [email protected]

the seperator plate can be drilled to get a "stiffer" shift ,,,,or a shift kit will take care of it,,,,,if the 3/4 clutch pack is bad,,,,,,may need "more"!!!! depends what you find in the tranny pan
