Cost for new brake ?

How much does it cost to replace the front brake (including pads, rotors) for a 1998 Jetta GLS ?
A local dealer in Denver asked for $450 including labor/parts, but I think it's too expensive for me.

I would say about $150. Thats just replacing pads. They may need to cut rotors thats not $300. If they need to replace the rotors you are coming close to your 450. The pads are about $20 for the set. You could probably find rotors on the web for $75 to $100. Ask why he is replacing rotors and not just cutting them. They should go by a thickness that will be left after cutting.
