97 Bonneville key stuck in on position in ignition

I am unable to get my key out of the ignition. The car is in park and the wheel will not lock. I can also shift the car into any gear even though I am not using the break to shift out of park.

Any help would be appreciated.

ouch, same thimg happened to me with a grand am, I just played with the thing until it came out, then took in to dealer and had them replace the whole switch.

Thanks. That's what we did and it finally came out and so far so good. But I may look into getting the shifter replaced just in case.
