I just recently bought a 2000 v6 cAmaro. I am dissapointed with the performance of it and i want to upgrade the engine to a v8. I am pretty new at things like this but I was looking at crate engines and thinking about purchasing a 350 smallblock. What would be the best way to go about this without having to go and buy a z28 or ss. Would i Have to make any other modifications to my car if I put a 350 crate engine in?How much would this cost me?

well do you have the means to make the swap cause it will be a costly one.

I have found several websites asking only about 2000$ so as long as its under the 3000$ range total i can afford the swap.

that one is for a 3rd gen camaro/firebird. what you will need is a ls1 for a 2000, which is you may be able to use this one but you do realize that you wil have to do some wiring and rig it up to were it will run.

Find one with 150,000 miles on it that is out of a car that has been smashed up, that's about the only way it'll be cheap.

you could go with an LT1, but it's gonna be a royal bitch to put into your car...

If you don't know a lot about doing this kind of stuff to cars, the best thing to do is to call fbody motorsports, and ask them if they have one that you can afford. If you live close enough, you can take it to them and have them install it, so the engine might cost you a little less if you get it all done there.

You or going to need a LT1 or LS1 engine, Auto or Manual Trans to fit either engine, Computer, Wiring Harness, rear end and a butt load of know how or you are going to have to read a lot up on it... Most that do this swap buy a wreck Z28 that is totaled and take all the parts they need then sell all the ones they don’t... I’m sorry to say this but you are better off selling you car and buying a Z28, it’s cheaper…
