2001 Maxima. Service Engine Soon Light is ON.

My oil change was 2k miles overdue, so the Service Engine Soon Light came on. Car has only 44k miles, would the fact the i prolonged to change oil trigure the light and if yes, now that i've changed the oil, how do i shut it off?

Never mind, it's off and here's how. If you have a similar problem where the Service Engine Soon light comes on after some procrastination in regards to oil changes (I dont even do that) but anyhow if it comes on, then you simply disconnect your battery for about an hour and the computer will automatically reset itself and that light will go off. If anyone has similar situation, let me know, Iam curious to see if old oil in fact can do that.
