Zeds are notorious for electical problems, it could just be a mis-read.
Because I doubt your stock boost is reading +14... That sounds a little sketchy to me.
Broke as **** what do you think, bud?

Well thats just ****in wrong. If you were instantly making 14+ psi like that you would know because:
1. You would really start hauling ass
2. Your engine would be pinging like crazy
That little guage was never that accurate anyway, even when it was working right. Instead of going from the back of the intake plenum to an actual pressure gauge, it goes to a sensor then to the little servo in the dash.
Spend 50 bucks, get an aftermarket guage and forget about it. That will be a damn sight easier then pulling your entire dash apart trying to fix a problem that you have to find first. And really, if you don't want to do that, then just forget about it anyway, it doesn't really matter how much boost you are making unless you are trying to tune the car. Safety isn't really an issue because if it starts making enough boost to cause problems then the ECU will cut into safety mode and open the waste gates.

i have heard from my friend (guy that runs chargen.net) and he said the only thing the stock boost gauge does and tell you if the turbo is working or not. so i would say a nice aftermarket gauge.
