Quiz ? Know what to do?

This is pertaining to a 94 and am sure it goes from at least 90-96...not sure about newer models.

You start your automatic 3.0 V-6, go to put it in gear and the shifter won't move. What is the vehicle telling you and whats the very quick way to fix it for the time being till you get the cheap part?

I really don't know if a manual has the same set up or not?

It's telling you to press on the brake

ok, you press on the brake and it still doesn't go into gear. Then you pry up the window by the shifter with a screwdriver and you push down through the hole and manually actuate the shift lock control switch.

I found if I blow a fuse to the brake-tailights (towing trailer sometimes) it will do it. Good safety feature I think. That way you know you have no rear lights.
