2nd O2 sensor?

hey guys i was just wondering if i would be able to run my 2g Talon w/out the catalytic converter. i notice that there is one o2 sensor just under the exhaust manifold and a second one just behind the cat. (im positive that the whole exhaust system is stock) if i cut the cat out and ran straight pipe to my muffler, would the second o2 sensor be all screwed up? thanx everyone!

You'll probably get what I got when I put my high flow cat on...CEL-check engine light. If you do you can get an 02 simulator. I'll be getting one sooooon I hope...
Without the cat conv. on the exhaust doesn't burn up fully giving the 2nd 02 sensor a not good/bad cat signal...CEL

I have the cat taken out of mine and I get a CEL now. But there is no emission testing where I live so Im not to worried about it, the light gets anoying though...

I had to clear that CEL everyday for a couple months before the ECU just gave up. Cant think of a logical explanation, but it just stoped. :) If you tie the sensor up somewhere safe (it gets hot, some poeple wrap it in foil) under the car, the ECU may think everything is fine. The front o2 sensor see the typical voltage swings we think of. The rear doesnt see as much amplitude since the CAT affects it in that fashion. When you remove the cat, the front and rear sensor see the same exhaust exhaust, and output the same signal, and the ECU gives the typical "cat system efficiency below threshold, bak 1" CEL. If you take it out of the exhaust, it wont cycle at all, and the ECU usually thinks everything is working fine ;)

If i was to completely cut out my cat, would it effect my muffler? im gonna get a muffler like the Apexi N1 or one of the many knock offs. or is cutting out the cat even worth the power gains?

there is no emission testing here :)

I picked up 1.5 mph (~15 hP) when it was running around 108 mph. The more power you make, the more a cat hurts you. On a stock tubo I dont think its really worth the gains, but if there is no emission testing, its up to you. I would do the right thing and keep it on, unless youre making a lot of power.
