Weak Air Conditioning

Just picked up our Quest "S" today in Phoenix (106 degrees today!)
The air conditioning seemed barely able to keep up. Nowhere near as cool as our Honda Odyssey was. We have the extra air conditioning filter and I was wondering if that was restricting air flow. Has anybody had issues with the van barely keeping cool inside? I searched the Technical Service Bulletins, but it didn't mention this specific cooling problem.

Thanks.

Just take the van back. The recirculation vent might not be closing or the system could be low on coolant.

I had this same problem. I live in Central Washington State and we get temperatures nearing 100 degrees. The air conditioning can not keep up with the heat. I like my van, but this is the one thing that frustrates me. I took it to the dealer twice and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Nissan should put a larger compressor on the van.

There is a Technical Service Bulletin out there that call for Nissan to replace a rubber flapper valve down near the passenger footwell on the bottom of the center console. This is the same location where my wife notices hot air blowing on her feet when the a/c is on high. Supposedly, this TSB is supposed to correct the problem. Still though, the Quest a/c is no match for the Honda Odyssey we just sold, but maybe they'll work it out (after all, our warranties have just been extended to 5 years, 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage, so maybe we can get this fixed once and for all!).
