Well, this is the Tamiya Golf V5 "converted" to an Euro spec. 1.4 Confortline. You can check the progress thread here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=282013).
It's a very basic build. I only modified the wheels, dash and removed the small mounting point on the front grille for the V5 symbol.
Anyway, here are the pics.
Constructive criticism is highly appreciated :)

Oops, I forgot to mention one thing! The license plates will be, also, a 1/24 replica of the real thing (a tribute to my friend's car). I'm still waiting for the laser-printed licenses....eheheh
Thank you for the comments anyway!
Pedro.

Veeery nice built! The wheels would interest me, too. From Tamiya´s Beetle or scratch?

I love the way you've done the side markers. Top notch!
It seems to me that the rear end is lower than the front, at least looking at the wheel-arch gaps... Though I guess the wheels are turned in the pics...
I might recommend a tiny dot of silver paint for the keyholes on the doors/hatch.
Superb paint work!! Whatever you did to get it, keep it up!!

Very nice looking "normal" car, only thing I couldn't help noticing are the brakes (they are definitly not 1.4 brakes) but hey it could be tuned 1.4 ;)
I love the paint job, real killer

Thank you all for your comments. That is exactly the kind of things that I like to hear :)
About the wheels: I just filled the gap between the double spokes of the original with putty and sanded smooth. Nothing fancy :)
Yes, the keyholes would benefit from that silver dot Jay says....I seem to forget something in all my models, I guess those tiny dots are one of those things
The side markers have nothing to it...I cut the part from the tree, clean it up as usual, and glue it on place with a little silver paint. That's it!
And now that I look more attentively to that last pic, I see that I should have polished a little more..That orange peel is not very nice...Oh well...I'll live with it
Again, thank you all!
Pedro.

Don't even know what a classic 1.4 is !! We don't have it here (Canada)... we have the basic 2.0L, the TDI (1.9L), the 1.8T (4 doors) the GTI (still 1.8T but 2 doors) and the VR6 (normal or 4 motion) (ho, the R32 is comming soon). But your built is just beautiful, clean and lifelike. I think your friend will love it... I do and I'm a pretty big VW fan... even if I don't know what's a 1.4 !!!

Diesel
1.9 TDi (105hp, 110hp, 130hp, 150hp) and the newly introduced 2.0 TDI with 140hp

I think you forgot the 1.9Tdi 115HP 6 speed manual gear. Or it was not distributed in Portugal?

The side markers have nothing to it...I cut the part from the tree, clean it up as usual, and glue it on place with a little silver paint. That's it!Then the clear part must have a locator pin? It's that one spot of perfectly round negative space in the center of the light that looks like a bulb; really looks the part! :D

Nice build. All the lights look expecially good.
