What year truck? Is it coming from the rear end? Mine does a similar thing from time to time, I just figured it was just another side benfit to the crappy ebrake system.

it does it when you stop and the start out again doesn't it? I don't know what it is, but it is typical gm.

The noise is the rear end pivoting your spring pack when you take off. The 1/2 ton pickups have a real weak spring pack and when you take off fast or slow the rearend pivots and shifts the springs making that noise. I have a 4" inch lift on mine and the only way to fix it ( so the guys at Les Scwabs say ) it to get heavier leaf springs.

I have a 2000 5.3 K1500 and the toot drives me crazy. If I have a full tank of gas, weight in the bed or pulling a gooseneck it doesn't do it. I installed some helper springs to help control the spring wrap which is what I thought was causing the problem but it didn't help one bit. How hard is it to change out the springs for heavier ones. Where would I find them and how expensive are they.
Thanks,
Sonny

You might check you local Chevy dealer and see if a 3/4 leaf spring would fit of you 1/2. I don't see any differance other that the amount of springs itself. And it's really quite easy to change them out just do one side at a time. To find heavyer springs look at you local junk yard.
