i have an 88 hf and i need an engine swap. which one is has the best horsepower for the total cost.(the sheapest and the fastest)

I'd say sohc vtec. Its easier to get aftermarket parts for them.

dude u are asking some pretty newb questions here, i think u need to do a search. my civic isnt fast..haha

zc is good but like he said it's harder to find parts for it, d series parts you can get cheap all day long at your local parts store, i have done the swap myself, and my car is an HF, because it is lighter, I can keep up with my friends turbo talon boosting 13 lbs. probably high 14's low 15's with stage 2 comp cam and vafc
