More Bass Needed from Bose System

Has anyone tried/found a way to increase the bass oputput from the factory Bose system (besides using the HU bass control)? I've got a 04 YXL that sure could use a kick in the bass output.

There are some folks that have added a sub in the left rear corner of the cargo area (the old location for the stock sub until they relocated it to the center console). I don't know the specifics, but there's an adapter of some sort that needs to be added as well. There's a member on SUV World - Timster - who has done this mod and is very happy with the results.
