ok sorry ill be more specific... its stock... last week i tryed just dumpin it around 2200.... it just spun really bad and almost put me in the wall.... so the rest of the night i just started off easy and didnt get on it til 2nd gear cause it was my first time racing the car and i wanted to get use to it...now i was thinkin about revin it up to 2200 again and feathering the clutch out and when i feel it grab get on it

i have a similar car, but with a little less power.
what works best for me is about a 2500 launch. hold the rpms at 2500, then let the clutch out almost as you do normally, but hold off on flooring the pedal. slam the pedal just before you bog down.
just gotta practice. wheel hop is a B on these cars.

Careful with slicks on a car with that much power and an Independent Rear Suspension. I think it will be fine as long as it's stock, but as soon as you start tweaking the engine, the IRS becomes a time bomb with Slicks. Hey! But as long as it's under warranty  drive on.

Yeah I know what you mean about traction. Thats what Im fighting at the track now. I 've got the power but putting it down is another issue all together. I think Im going to try just getting off the line normally and giving it hell in 2nd. I ran a 13.7@ 106mph and had bad tire spin off the line. If I can figure out how to get it to hook up im looking for very low 13's at least.

yea... thats how i did it.. left the line easy and gave it hell in 2nd lol.. i ran a 13.3 at 109 so you should def be runnin low 13s with that trap speed i think... what was you 60' time?

Try slipping the clutch a little to hook up and then pop it. Thats what works best in my truck.

Yeah, the night I went to the track I only got one run in because it was so packed that night. I plan on going back Tuesday early so I can practice on my launch. I know the car is capable I just gotta work on my technique. The night I ran when that light lit green I came off the clutch way to soon and just blew the tires away.:banghead: I'll do much better next week. Ill post my new time.

You could let some air out of the tires to help you hook up or get some sticky tires. I improved my 60 ft from 2.55 to 2.08 by throwing on some Nitto drag radials. I can launch now around 2500 and control the spin if I don't dump the throttle too hard. After 60ft the pedal is through the floor with no problem where as before I'd be spinning into 2nd gear.

I didn't see the 2nd page of the posts. Damn that's a great time, and I guess you got your 60 ft down to a science! Congrats. By the way go on yellow instead of green. That will help reaction times at the tree.
