Well i just finished swapping my si mpfi intake manifold from my hf mpfi manifold, and now my ecu is throwing the tps code , well i was just wondering what causes this exactly and how can i fix it, i know take a voltmeter to it but is it just plug it in and check the volts and adjust to correct or would it be quicker easier to take it somewhereconsidering i dotn have a voltmeter............ Plus i just aquired a 91si hatch for free! just hought id throw that in......but let me know any knowledge or suggestions you have to share on this...........

I'm guessing you're talking about the Throttle Positioining Sensor... Or, the Throttle Angel Sensor.... You might want to make sure that your harnesses are hooked up correctly. There isn't anything about a vacuum hose connected to it. Just make sure all of your harnesses are hooked up correctly... Might be that the ecu needs reset... Pull out your hazard fuse and let it sit for around 15 mins... That should reset the ecu, and try again.

I dont think you can really adjust the TPS. More the sensor on the new tb/manifold mite have been damaged but try resetting the ECU like Fibori said.

If it's still factory sealed then DON'T try and adjust it! It's factory set and locked for a reason. It's only if some isiot has broken past the shear bolts that you are going to have to adjust it - if you can.

tps' are easily adjustable...
You can get one from your old hf or dx manifold if the one you have on now is noticeable broken. bolt it on using some hex bolts or some allen screws from a hardware store. Then, put it on. look in the haynes manual and it will tell you which two wires to test. while having a multimeter pinned into the two wires with your ignition set to "on" (cars not running but on), Turn the tps until it is at the right voltage then tighten it. it is supposed to be at .500 volts while the throttle is closed and 4.5 volts when the throttle is fully open. done.
I know some people are gonna say that you can't use the dx tps from dpfi manifolds. But that's wrong. I know ur thinking that it works backwards but it doesn't. The tps works the same. It's the throttle plate that opens in the opposite direction on the dpfi manifolds...which is why the outer two wires are switched.
