brake booster

hi all new here
i am lookin to ditch the brake booster on my 76 t\a and change to a manual set up, will i have to change master cylinder or can i just remove the booster and will the master bolt back to the fire wall?will the rod be the same length? thanks for the help hdguy

Disk brakes don't work well without a booster. Go somewhere where there are no buildings, curbs, cars, trucks, people or dogs and get up to 40 MPH. Now turn the key off. Next, lightly pump the brakes (don't apply them, just push down enough to begin braking) several times. This pumping action will bleed off the reserve power braking. Now, try to stop. That will give you an idea of what it would be like. Start the car again to get your brakes back.

thanks i realise the hard stopping without the booster, however i don`t have enough vacuum to properly opperate it anyway and would really like to gain from the the weight savings as the car sees mostly drag strip use. is there a differant master cylinder i could get to convert to manual brakes? thanks hdguy
