Its not too bad - its more like fighting, not watching a hyena get helplessly torn to shreds

The lionesses are usually the ones that do the hunting, unless the lion is a rejected young male, or a de-throned older male, with no "harem".

The fact that the sire of the pride actually did the attacking - it was purely revenge, and/or a show of domination.

Awesome vid.

An awesome display of nature. The hyenas, not particularly smart animals, didn't have much of a chance. They will bite the ears off of their peers during a feeding frenzy. If they gang up on a lion they can steal it's food; but, as this video shows, actions have consequences. Lions 1, Hyenas 0.
